A new start-up business is aiming to connect big-name brands and consumers via smart phones.
Shopitize was founded in 2010 by tech entrepreneur, investor and former Australian cabinet minister Alan Griffiths; former banker Irina Pafomova; and former management consultant. Alexey Andriyanenko. Since inception, it is reported to have already attracted £1m in funding.
Shopitize users will use smart phone technology to snap photos of shopping receipts to upload to the Shopitize website.
There, they will be rewarded with personalised and individually tailored offers and rewards; given smart tools to help them shop, as well as being placed fully in control of their shopping data, in total privacy.
Shopitize has appointed pr company, Whoosh, to promote its new shopping platform across consumer, trade and tech media, both on and offline.
Chris Morris, Whoosh PR managing director, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Shopitize. They have a very innovative proposition and we are excited to be their go-to-market partner.
“In these challenging economic times, the initial investment raised to build the team and product, after validating the ideas and building the prototype, is testimony to the strength of Shopitize business model, brand and product. We are looking forward to phase two and the commercial roll-out across firstly, the UK, and then Australia.”
